Eye was the home of the late Sir Frederick Ashton, choreographer to the Royal Ballet, his secuded house famous for its 'crinkle crankle' wall. Don't tell anyone but actor Johnny Depp owns a property in a nearby village.
Ideally situated on the Suffolk/Norfolk border it is an easy drive to the historic East Anglian towns of Clare, Lavenham, Framlingham, Cavendish, Southwold, Bury St. Edmunds, Walberswick, Southwold, and Aldeburgh, while the stunning cities of Cambridge and Norwich are within easy reach. Constable lovers can visit Dedham Vale and those who want a flutter can try their luck at Newmarket races only 40 minutes away.
